  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups (165g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup (170g) dark chocolate chunks (60% cacao or higher)
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and emulsified.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, continuing to whisk until the batter lightens slightly in color.
  3. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and fine salt using a spatula until just combined; do not over-mix.
  4. Gently fold in the dark chocolate chunks until evenly distributed.
  5. Using a cookie scoop, portion the dough into 1.5-tablespoon spheres (approx. 30g each).
